BGCCVI Board of Directors
Ian has been with our organization for 15 years and under his leadership and with the excellent work done by staff, BGCCVI is a totally different organization. This year our budget is close to $5,000,000. We have expanded and now have clubs in Ladysmith, the Comox Valley and of course Nanaimo. We have approximately 100 people working in our clubs. That is something to be proud of. Additionally, Ian has developed strong relationships in our communities and that includes partners such as Nanaimo Aboriginal Centre, Mid Island Metis, SD 84 and Loaves and Fishes. Ian is retiring from an organization that is strong and complex and finding a capable person to replace him is vital to the ongoing health of the club. After serious discussion, the Board members have decided to hire the services of an executive search firm.
We are doing this because Ian has left big shoes to fill and we want the very best candidate. The firm we have chosen KCI is a well-recognized leader in the field of executive recruitment. They will be able to gather all the pieces together in a way a board search committee could not do, as we do not have the time, or expertise to do the search. And as a side note, Ian will continue on for a few months first to orient the new Executive Director and then to continue the relationship building he has been doing.
