I worked with Island Health as Team Leader for the Public Health Dental Program (retired Sept 2015) serving communities from Mill Bay to Port Hardy, I chaired the Greater Nanaimo Early Years Partnership, a network of agencies providing services to families with young children and was a member of the Nanaimo Early Years Leadership Team. I was involved with community early childhood committees and family focused community activities across the island.
I have been a BGCCVI Board Member since October 2009. I also serve on the Quality Assurance Committee of the College of Dental Hygienists of BC.
Reason for choosing to be a BGCCVI Board Member
Children are our future workers and leaders, and early investment in children provides significant rewards for the future of a civil society. BGCCVI provides opportunities for children, youth and parents to explore possibilities for the personal growth and development Staff are passionate about the services they provide for families. I want BGCCVI to make a positive impact on a child’s life by providing innovation and community leadership in supporting families, enhancing community collaborations that increase opportunities for families and creating outstanding workplaces for staff and families participating in programs.
