BGCCVI Wine Survivor 2020
Calling all wine lovers, here is your chance to win lots of wine all while supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Vancouver Island! This Wine Survivor event will benefit all of the youth in our programs as you try to survive elimination for the opportunity to fill your wine rack.
PHASE 1: REGISTRATION & COLLECTION – November 16 – December 4 (Closes at 5pm)
In order to participate in Wine Survivor, you must be a part of a team. You may form your own team, or we can assign you a team. Teams are limited to a maximum of 6. Please remember to list your team name as well as the names & emails of the members you’re paying for when doing your e-transfer, or attach them to the cheque.
Registration is $40 per team member: A $20 direct donation to BGCCVI, and $20 towards the purchase of a bottle of wine (Due to COVID-19, we are replacing each “bottle” with a $20 gift card to BC Liquor Stores).

There is no limit to the number of entries per person.
Social Media Bonus Entry!
During the Collection Phase, share any of our Wine Survivor promotional posts or a picture of you and your team enjoying a glass of wine over Zoom/Skype/FaceTime on your Instagram or Facebook wall or story for a bonus entry to increase your team’s odds of winning.
Remember to tag Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Vancouver Island AND include your team name in the post (otherwise bonus entry is invalid). Please make sure your profile is public, otherwise you can send us a private message over social media with a screen shot of your post, so we can view your entry. We encourage the whole team to participate and share with their friends, but as long as one person posts per team, you’ll receive the bonus entry. A total of one entry per team will be counted.
PHASE 2: ELIMINATION – December 8 – 11, 2020
From December 8 to December 11, daily announcements will be made and individual names will be eliminated or “voted off the island”. However as long as at least one member of your team is still in the draw, your entire team is still in the game. The number of people that will be eliminated every day will depend on the number of registered participants – follow us on Facebook for updates.
The names of the individuals that are eliminated will be emailed to them. Updates will be posted on both the BGCCVI Wine Survivor Facebook event page, as well on this page.
PHASE 3: FINAL DRAW – December 12, 2020
The final participants whose names are still in the draw after December 11 will be invited to attend a virtual event on Zoom (during COVID to support social distancing). The remaining participants will receive their invitation to the event by email. You don’t need to be present at the final event to win.
During the event, more announcements will take place and more participants will be eliminated. The last 6 participants (depending on total participation) still in the game will be declared the winners. If you win – your whole team wins!
The winners will share the wine bottles collected – this year due to COVID they will share the gift cards. The number of ‘bottles’ (i.e. gift cards at $20) to be won will depend on the number of entries but the distribution will be as followed:
For 499 participants or less we will issue 6 prizes:
- 1st Place Prize: 35% of the prize split 6 ways with your team
- 2nd Place Prize: 25% of the prize split 6 ways with your team
- 3rd Place Prize: 15% of the prize split 6 ways with your team
- 4th Place Prize: 10% of the prize split 6 ways with your team
- 5th Place Prize: 10% of the prize split 6 ways with your team
- 6th Place Prize: 5% of the prize split 6 ways with your team
