This week was all about creativity—color, imagination, and fun out in the community! Whether you posed with art, wore something bold, or just saw Nanaimo through a new lens, we hope you had a blast. Use the form below to upload your photos for the challenges you completed. We’re excited to see how you brought your ideas to life!

1. Temporary Public Art Installation – 15 pts

Create a mini art installation using natural materials (like rocks or leaves). Leave it in a public park or trail and snap a photo of your masterpiece.

3. Spell Your Name Using Letters from Signs Around Town – 15 pts

Explore Nanaimo and spell out your name using letters found on signs around town! Take photos of each letter and arrange them to create your name. (Bonus points for creative sign choices!)

3. Hidden Faces – 10 pts

Take a photo of something outdoors that looks like a face… but isn’t. (Tree trunks, buildings, shadows—it’s all fair game!)

4. Take a Photo with a Giant Object – 10 pts

Strike a pose with something oversized—like the big chairs at Country Club Mall or a large sculpture in town.

5. Frame the View – 10 pts

Use your hands, a picture frame, or something else to “frame” a beautiful Nanaimo view. Tell us why you chose that scene!

6. Chalk the City – 15 pts

Use sidewalk chalk to draw a colourful scene or design in a public space. Bonus points for Nanaimo-themed ideas! Snap a pic before the rain does.

7. Draw or Paint a Nanaimo Scene – 15 pts

Create a drawing or painting of a favorite local view—then snap a photo of your artwork beside the real thing.

8. Discover a Nanaimo Artist – 10 pts

Find a piece of art by a local artist in person or online. Share a photo or screenshot and tell us what you liked about their work.

9. Make a Color-Themed Photo Collage – 10 pts

Pick one color, go for a walk, and photograph things in that color. Create a collage to showcase your "color hunt" finds.

10. Wildcard Challenge: Where Creativity Begins – 20 pts

Visit a local spot that sparks your creativity—like a craft store, yarn shop, bookstore, or boutique. Snap a photo and share what inspires you there.
