intro 2 sport + wellness

Intro 2 Sport & Wellness is designed to introduce teens to a variety of sports and physical activities in a fun, supportive environment. We focus on building confidence, teamwork, and foundational skills, helping young athletes discover their strengths and develop a lifelong passion for staying active and healthy.

welcome to intro 2 sport & wellness

The Intro 2 Sport & Wellness (I2SW) is a 10-week program that provides youth aged 12-18 the opportunity to improve physical literacy skills, such as agility, balance, and coordination while being exposed to a wide range of sports and wellness activities.

Participants will be introduced to sports which may, depending on the season, include basketball, boxing, yoga, dance, golf, racquet sports (tennis/pickle ball), skating, bouldering, soccer, baseball and more. This introduction will include basic rules, game play as well as a key focus on fundamental skills specific to each sport or activity. Layered throughout the fundamental lessons and introductory games, participants will experience guest speakers and lessons that focus on nutrition, mental health, injury prevention and resource awareness.

BGCCVI’s focus is for participants to complete the program and leave with a positive experience, increased peer connections, increased knowledge of healthy living strategies, an understanding of injury prevention, awareness of mental health coping strategies and a list of resources available to them in the community. The goal is that through this program, participants will build confidence, lead an active and healthy lifestyle and pursue a sport of their preference following the end of the program.

building strong foundations

Our youth programs are more than just activities—they’re opportunities for personal growth, resilience, and lifelong learning. We incorporate specialized curriculums that address mental health, substance awareness, and relationship skills as foundational building blocks in our programs. These curriculums help youth navigate life’s challenges with knowledge, confidence, and support.

creating connections

Designed for teens ages 13–18, Creating Connections empowers youth with the knowledge and tools to understand substance use, prevent associated harms, and build healthy coping mechanisms. In a safe, open space, teens explore mental health, addiction, and substance-use stigmas with supportive club staff, fostering balanced, informed decision-making.

respect2connect

For ages 12–14, Respect2Connect takes a positive, strengths-based approach to healthy relationship building. Through a trauma-informed lens, youth learn the techniques needed to navigate relationships of all kinds with respect and empathy, while recognizing the diversity of perspectives in today’s world.

flex your head

Flex Your Head equips youth ages 13+ with the strategies and support to promote positive mental health and wellness. In a peer-focused environment, teens learn to manage stress, build resilience, and openly discuss mental health topics, empowering them to prioritize wellness in a welcoming, inclusive setting.
