2. Visit a Community Bulletin Board – 10 pts
Visit a community bulletin board (like the one at the library, or a local café) and snap a photo of an event, poster, or announcement that caught your eye.
3. Snap a Photo of a Local Business with a “Nanaimo Vibe” – 10 pts
Find a local business that, to you, feels like Nanaimo. Maybe it’s been around forever, has coastal charm, or just gives off that friendly small-city feel. Take a photo and tell us why you chose it!
4. Visit a Local Landmark You’ve Never Been To – 15 pts
Explore something new in your own backyard! Visit a landmark, park, or public space in Nanaimo that you’ve never been to before and take a photo of your discovery. Bonus points for telling us what surprised or impressed you most! Seen them all? Show us your favourite!
5. Buy a Drink or Snack from a Local Café – 10 pts
Support a local café or bakery and take a photo with your treat. Bonus points if you let them know you’re there because of the Great BGC Scavenger Hunt!
6. Interview Someone in Your Community – 15 pts
Ask a friend, family member, or stranger (with permission!) to share what they love about Nanaimo. Submit a short video or written quote from your interview.
7. Snap a Pic of the Nanaimo Bar Exhibit – 15 pts
Head to the Nanaimo Museum and find the Nanaimo Bar exhibit. Take a photo of the display (or a selfie with it!) and share one fun fact you learned about this iconic treat.
8. Make a New Friend – 15 pts
While out exploring Nanaimo, introduce yourself to someone new and ask to take a quick photo together. It could be a shop owner, park visitor, or someone completing the scavenger hunt too! (Be sure to ask for their permission first!)
9. Leave a Positive Note in a Public Space – 10 pts
Write a kind message and leave it in a visible place—on a bulletin board, at a community centre, or in a Little Free Library. Take a photo of your message in place.
10. Wildcard: Scavenger Hunt Reflection – 20 pts
Visit your favorite local spot and record a short video (or write a short paragraph) reflecting on your favorite memory from the scavenger hunt. What did you learn or enjoy the most?
