Holiday Hamper Program
With the holiday season comes joy, family, and friends. But for many BGCCVI families, the holiday season can bring extra financial stress and worries.
We know that many of our families are struggling with the increased cost of living, work difficulties, and other challenges. Families are being forced to stretch their dollars further than ever, and providing holiday meals or gifts to their children may be an impossible task. Other families may need to decide between a holiday dinner or holiday gifts. It’s enough to make anyone feel overwhelmed!
That is why we created the BGCCVI Adopt a Family – a holiday hamper program that provides our very own BGCCVI families in need with hampers that contain a full holiday meal for their whole family and a little something extra to help them through this time, provided by generous individuals, businesses, and community organizations in and around our communities of Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Parksville, and the Comox Valley.

The Adopt A Family program is all about spreading joy during the holidays. For the third year in a row, we’re collecting donations in the form of money or new, unwrapped children’s gifts. Then, armed with these contributions, we’ll assemble special hampers filled to the brim with food, household essentials, gift cards, and everything needed for a fabulous holiday meal. Partnering up with Country Grocer, we make sure every donation goes a long way. But we can’t do it alone! You can get involved by contributing funds or new, unwrapped kid items. Your support helps us create memorable holiday moments for families facing hardships. Join us in making this holiday season brighter for those in need!

You can make a difference to a local family’s holiday this year! Make a contribution on behalf of yourself, your family, or your business or organization. You can make a donation by clicking this link, or by dropping off a new, unwrapped children’s toy to any of our BGCCVI locations in Nanaimo and Ladysmith.
phase two:
working together for a greater impact
To maximize the impact of your donations, we’ve teamed up with Country Grocer to stretch your contributions further, ensuring that every donation goes towards creating meaningful and comprehensive hampers for families. We’ll stock up on holiday essentials and pack the hampers with everything families need for an amazing holiday meal.
phase three:
bringing joy to families' doorsteps
Once the hampers are prepared, our dedicated team will deliver these bundles of joy directly to pre-selected families in our community, just in time for the holidays! These families may include single parents, low-income families, or families with other barriers to providing a holiday celebration.

We’re close with our BGCCVI families! Our staff, leaders, and supervisors have the honour of getting to know our Club families throughout the year, and have been able to identify and nominate families that may benefit from additional support during the holiday season. These families may include single parents, low-income families, or families with other barriers to providing a holiday celebration.

- Make your donation by clicking the link below. We gratefully accept donations of any amount!
- Make your donation no later than Friday, December 20 at 5pm. Donations are tax-free and receipts will be provided!
- Our team will use donations and our community connections to fill the hampers with food and supplies that our families have requested.
- Hampers will be delivered to BGCCVI families just in time for the holidays!
